How Your Tax Dollars Are Spent - CASH BENEFITS TO IMMIGRANTS!! (Part One of an Occasional Series)

By Connie Kaplan, RegainAmerica Staff Writer, May 26, 2008

In this series, we take a look at how the federal and state and municipal governments of the United States spend our money.

Our tax dollars.  Our money.

The people in the United States can be classified, generally, as follows:

  • US Citizens
  • Illegal Aliens
  • Non-citizens who are Legal Residents
  • Individuals present in the United States under a special status such as that of "Refugee"

Next, the above described groups of individuals can be divided into into roughly three ECONOMIC groups.

The first group is by far the smallest, and comprises individuals who are exceedingly wealthy.  People like the Schwarzeneggers and the Kennedys and the Trumps and, it could be argued, the majority of our senators and representatives in Congress.

Most of the people in this first group would probably be classified as citizens and/or legal residents of the United States.

Most of the people in this group are assessed as having to pay taxes.

And most  of the individuals in this group still have, after they have paid their taxes, more than enough money left to do whatever it is they want to do - travel in private jets or send their kids to private school or buys cars or mansions or gold plated umbrella stands.

The second group, on the other hand, is a very large group, and is comprised of citizens and legal residents, along with a staggering percentage of illegal aliens and refugees who are "economically disadvantaged".

Naturally many people in this second group would NOT be assessed as having to pay taxes because they are poor.

Conversely, however, most of the individuals in this group would be found to be receiving government benefits and/or support in all sorts of ways and amounts and forms, e.g., medical care, food stamps, housing allowances, rent vouchers.

Oh - and CA$H.

The last economic group is the Middle Class American Taxpayer.

Chances are, that if you are reading this editorial, you are in the Middle Class.  You and me and our neighbors, and our friends, and families.

We are the group who, after paying our taxes, GO WITHOUT.

We are the people who, after paying our taxes, do not have the money to put aside for the education of our own children.

We are the people who, after paying our taxes, do not have the money to put aside for that new roof.

Or the repairs on the car.

Or a longed for vacation.

We, the Middle Class, pay our taxes and then live with leaky roofs and broken appliances.  We buy more Hamburger Helper and less steak. Less life insurance. Fewer toys for the kids.

Obviously taxes are important and the country cannot run without them.  Police, military, fire, schools, highways, bridges, Social Security, Medicare. Taxes are necessary, important, prudent and, moreover, inevitable.  No reasonable person would argue with that.

And, the more liberal among us could perhaps argue that part of the greatness of America is the helping hand it extends to its immigrants.

But is there EVER a line which cannot be crossed?

Is there EVER a limit which can be imposed?

Not in California.

One of the zanier states in the union, California is never shy when it comes to inventing and awarding benefits to those it perceives as disadvantaged.

Hence, the California CAPI Program which makes available the payment of MONTHLY CA$H BENEFITS TO IMMIGRANTS.

Remember - CAPI does NOT refer to medical treatment or other manner of health care or social service assistance - what this section specifically references is a CA$H BENEFIT.

With no limitations or qualifiers upon how this CA$H is to be spent.

But is it absolutely necessary to hand out an unrestricted CA$H benefit?

RegainAmerica argues that America, being the great country that it is, has already made every effort to care for all the needy, including illegal aliens, within its borders.

Health care coverage, food stamps, milk vouchers, public schools, and innumerable other benefits and services.

SO DOES AMERICA HAVE TO GIVE ITS IMMIGRANTS CA$H PAYMENTS AS WELL????

When is enough, enough?!?!?!?

The next time you have to deny your own child something, remember CAPI.

The next time you do not have the money to do something for your family, remember CAPI.

The next time you do not have the money for something that you need, remember CAPI.

We should all remember CAPI.

And be sure to let RegainAmerica know your thoughts. We will compile the responses and let the elected representatives know the thoughts of their VOTING constituents.

That's the American way!
